Bauchi Livestock Farmers Trained on Digital Communication Tools
Bauchi, Bauchi State – Livestock farmers being supported by the Bauchi State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project have completed a hands-on training on the use of digital communication tools for enhanced productivity and market access. The training, facilitated by Four Icons Premium, equipped participants with practical knowledge on how digital platforms can support information sharing, customer engagement, record keeping, and better decision-making within the livestock value chain.
The capacity-building programme brought together livestock farmers and stakeholders for interactive sessions focused on the growing importance of digital literacy in modern agriculture. Participants explored practical ways to use mobile phones, social media platforms, digital record-keeping tools, and online communication channels to improve farm operations and connect with emerging opportunities.
Beyond presentations, the training featured practical demonstrations, group exercises, and knowledge-sharing sessions designed to help participants apply digital communication tools to real-life farming and agribusiness situations. Discussions also highlighted the role of technology in improving access to advisory services, strengthening market linkages, increasing visibility for livestock businesses, and supporting more resilient agricultural systems.
Facilitators emphasized that strengthening food systems requires more than increased production alone.
